Minutes of Present: Andy Simon, President, Steve Anfinson, Jerry Stowe, Sandra Yarbrough, Mary Vestuto, Donna Kelley, Jennie Motheral, Bobbie Joines, Donna Jenschke and Martha Kies. Also Present Call Committee: Bill Williams, Mike Borchers, Mary Vestuto, Kendra Joines, Linda Corder and Rheba Schwartz. Andy Simon called meeting to order and gave the opening prayer. Bill Williams representing the Call Committee reported to the Council - Pastor Michael Williams is presented to the Council for approval as Zion’s new Senior Pastor. Open discussion by all Council Members in the selection of Pastor Michael Williams as an excellent candidate. Andy Simon asked the Call Committee if a suggested salary had been considered. Bill Williams reported considering Pastor Williams experience and background an $80,000.00 range should be considered. Bobbie Joines made a motion to approve an $80,000.00 range figure, seconded by Steve Anfinson. Motion carried by all. Andy Simon stated a Called Congregation Meeting could be called for May 31 to present to the Congregation for consideration the hiring of Pastor Williams. All agreed this would be the best date considering the holidays coming up on the calendar. Bill Williams requested Andy Simon and Sara McKeon, Treasurer to meet the following morning, May 6, 2009 for the purpose of putting a salary package in place.
Council closed the meeting with the Lord’s Prayer.
